Link of the Day

Addenum (8:01 p.m. pst):
Found another funny story that I'd like to share from the Washington Post. Ever wonder
what Britney Spears fans thought about the election? Gene Weingarten of the Washington
Post did. So he went into AOL's Britney Spears Chat Room to have a political conversation.

U.S. Penis Comes Up Short in Size Survey?
I think the funniest part about this story is its matter-of-fact tone of delivery. =)
"...One critic is Brazil's Dr. Bayard Santos, author of the book "The Measure of Man" and a specialist in penis enlargement. Santos said his survey of 2,188 men in southern Brazil showed the average size of the nation's penises was 5.9 inches (15 cm) -- a full 0.19 inches (0.5 cm) longer than Palma's estimate. He also believes that differences between U.S. and Brazilian penises have been exaggerated..."
... and much, much more here! Including the optimal width required for satisfaction. Guys, bust out those tape measures. =P
It's amazing. Journalists will publish anything these days. Ahem! Tsk tsk...
Song of the Week

"Sunny days
Where have you gone?
I get the strangest feeling you belong
Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?"

I added a little bonus song in this Song of the Week issue. Heh heh. Don't miss it, trust me. =)
Dubya has been inaugurated! Rae Carruth has been acquitted! Whew, someone pass me a chair.

Dubya to your left. The Carolina receiver to your right. |
Onto more important news: I've now attended 28 hours of class without ditching. That not only is my personal record, it also shattered my previous best twice over! I remember last quarter my streak ended even before Week 1 was over. Folks, that's proof there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. If a chronic ditcher like me can get back onto the path of reformation, imagine what you could do if you put your mind to it. =P

The return of Gerry, everyone. Go read... and laugh... just like the old days. =)
PC Games Roundup of

"... There's been a lot of games that have come and gone. I know some of you out there are just starting to get into gaming, and some of you are grizzled veterans of the scene. Regardless, I think there's something for everyone here ..."

I'm finally done with that monster of an article. Check it out guys. If anything, I included a ton of pics too. Feedback or just simply some comments about is recommended, and will be greatly appreciated. =)
Cheers.

Ravens vs. Giants.... who would've thunk it? Click!
I have a bunch of articles coming up for you guys. I went to the L.A. Auto Show with a couple of friends yesterday, and I took along the crappy digital camera. Hopefully at least some of those pictures will turn out OK, so I'll be posting those once I get back to the dorms.
My PC Game Roundup article is just about complete. Just a few more comments at the end and some brush up work before I send it to the virtual press. It's a pretty massive, so I hope you gamers (budding and veteran alike) dig it.
Finally, I'll get started on the top movie list with Gerry next week as well. Looks to be an active period for Rice World, at least for now. It's a beautiful day outside right now. I think I'm going to go enjoy my Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Hey, the man died for this! Cheers. =)
Rain, Rain, Go Away
[ 1-11-01 ][ 5:28 p.m. pst ][ By Rice ]
For the second day in a row, I was rained on while walking back from class. Grr... The sky looked overcast for both days, and before departing, I decided to just risk it and hope that by the time I get out of class the weather would remain static. Obviously things didn't quite pan out as I hoped it would've. My baseball cap is ruined...
It's kind of interesting when it rains, though. As I was hustling back to the dorms, hunched over in vain attempt to dodge each individual raindrop, I noticed there are basically three types of "rain personality". You have the people that are similar to me, walking briskly and generally looking miserable. Then you have the people that were smart enough to bring an umbrella. Finally, the most amusing type, the ones that don't have an umbrella, yet struts in the rain like they enjoy it. Heh heh.
I love it when the rain lets up and the sun peeks through the nimbus clouds, especially in smog central Los Angeles. It's one of the few times the sky's blue, the cloud's white, and the sun's bright yellow. The rest of the world may think that's pretty passé, but hey, it's rare down here to get pure natural light. I can see clearly now the rain is gone......
Dan gave me a free digital camera a while ago he got from having Earthlink as his ISP. Thanks man! Anyways, I've only now started playing around with it. It's a piece of crap compared to $300+ camera's, but hey, this one costed me zilch. I took the above shot from my window with it, right after I came back and shook off the rain drops on me.
Here's another cool one. It's of my roommate John dunking. Heh heh. =)

Traffic
[ 1-8-01 ][ 7:22 a.m. pst ][ By Rice ]
"... However, Traffic is an intense, in-your-face look at the frontlines of this grisly business, as well as the multitude effects that it has on people of all classes and nationality..."

So... instruction officially begins today. Luckily enough for me, I debut with just one afternoon class at 2. For the life of me though, I don't know why I stirred up at 6 in the morning, so I whipped up a really short Traffic review. Go check it out.
For those that missed the new, hi-res 100kb+ Xbox shots I posted last night, but promptly archived away, here they are again. These shots are much better than the ones I posted earlier late Saturday night. Man, the console wars are really starting to heat up. Personally, I'm looking forward to Luigi's Mansion on the forthcoming GameCube. ;)
And how 'bout them Clippers, eh? Whipped the defending champs by more than 20 points! Muhaha, time for this Clipper fan to come out of the closet. For those that have been snickering at me for favoring the uglier NBA team in Los Angeles....... HAH! =)
