1.) St. Louis Rams - The Rams are still a class above the rest of the league. They've actually improved their WR corps by adding Terence Wilkins, Eric Crouch (yes, the Heisman QB), and Troy Edwards. And they've still got Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, and Ricky Proehl. Kurt Warner's also got Ernie Conwell and Marshall Faulk to pass to. How can you stop them?
2.) San Francisco 49ers - I really, really like the Niners this year, but I still have doubts as to whether they can overcome the Rams. The 49ers have used the draft to manufacture a tough, young defense that should be sound for years to come. But the running game's got to hold up. Was I the only one waiting every week for Garrison Hearst to go down?
3.) Seattle Seahawks - The one team that switched conferences, and they end up in a division w/ the 49ers and Rams. Mike Holmgren must be taking a good look at that revolver in the drawer of his desk. The Seahawks will be respectable once QB Trent Dilfer returns. He's a winner, and he'll make Darrell Jackson and Koren Robinson a lot better.
4.) Arizona Cardinals - Every league needs a whipping boy, and the NFL has a handful, the Cardinals being one of them. They just can't win down there. Is it the heat? They have players who put up great numbers like WR David Boston and RB Thomas Jones might merge this season. But Arizona is doomed to last place. Why even play at all, eh?
