2002-2003 NFL PREVIEW

By: Rice & Gerry
Date: 09-02-02

If there's one thing we here at Rice World dislike about our audience, it's the lack of sports fans. We've somehow attracted the intellectual demographic, not that there's anything wrong w/ it. Hey all you intellectuals out there who might be closet sports fans, speak up! You can out yourselves right here on Rice World.

Every fall, Rice and I put out an NFL Preview rivaling Sports Illustrated and ESPN The Magazine (Haha). We predict the order of finish for each conference's divisions, providing some insight into each respective team's prognosis for the season. Then Rice and I try to predict who plays in the playoffs and who will win the Super Bowl.

Every year, we're the only two dudes who click on the article. I remember the heartache we felt when we used to do weekly picks. A gambler might have actually found it useful. But instead, no one said a damn thing. Rice literally spent hours each week formatting that stuff. For 17 weeks, only tumbleweeds were our audience.

Please let this be the year the sports fans speak up. It's football for crying out loud. This is the national pastime, not baseball. The whole season is crammed into 16 weeks. Each game counts. Football is the ultimate team game. All 11 players on the field play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the game. You gotta love it.

I am doing the NFC and Rice is doing the AFC. Will Rice's Bills finally solve their QB situation? Will the Rams finally realize that they have to get Marshall Faulk the ball in order to win the Super Bowl? Or will the Patriots cheat their way to the title once again?
