Reese Witherspoon

Rice's pick for the inaugural RiceMate of the Month couldn't be better, as Reese Witherspoon shares the same initials as this hallowed web site. Following her breakthrough mainstream hit, Legally Blonde, Reese Witherspoon appears to be on the verge of becoming a household name. This fall, she stars in the saccharine Sweet Home Alabama, a movie about coming home again and finding one's true roots. I can't watch that crap, but Reese sure does look good. You can see her rack in Twilight; I think that's the only time she's done nudity. Her steamy love scene in Cruel Intentions didn't have any, right?

Jennifer Garner

My choice for inaugural RiceMates of the Month is the heroine of one of my favorite TV shows, "Alias". After thinking about it while sitting on the toilet and reading the Entertainment Weekly's Fall TV Preview, which I've scanned for you guys, I've come to the conclusion that "Alias" is so freakin' addictive because of Jennifer Garner's Emmy-nominated performance. Not only is she pretty, in a Julia Roberts sort of way, there's just an earnestness in her eyes that couldn't possibly be acting. She has to genuinely be a warm, kind-hearted person who is also vulnerable. Next year, look for her opposite Ben Affleck in Daredevil, a comic book movie where she plays the sai-wielding assassin Elektra.
