Finally, part 3 of this article will gloss over some of the games that I have had no experience with. All these games are GOOD ones (i.e. has garnered univeral praise or won awards) that I've either missed, or didn't feel comfortable with the genre (i.e. traditional RPG). Think of it as a "sorry! I missed it..." section. Without further ado, in alphabetical order:

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Genre: RPG
GameSpot 2000 Role-Playing Game of the Year

baldurs2_screen011.jpg (45521 bytes)

"BioWare's Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn has nearly everything a role-playing game fan could want: interesting quests, endearing characters, and the ability to create and develop a single character or an entire party of characters from any of the character classes in TSR's Dungeons & Dragons rules." - GameSpot

Combat Misson: Beyond Overlord
Genre: War Game Simulation
GameSpot Review: 9.1/10

combatmission_screen002.jpg (29070 bytes)

"The first serious wargame to truly take advantage of a 3D engine, Combat Mission has woken up dedicated fans of the genre to the gameplay potential of 3D. The game succeeds in its faithful reproduction of squad-level WWII ground tactics, and its simultaneous turn resolution is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the detailed graphics." - GameSpot

Enemy Engaged: RAH-66 Comanche vs. Ka-52 Hokum
Genre: Chopper Action Simulation
GameSpot 2000 Simulation Game of the Year

comanche_screen002.jpg (14745 bytes)

"Razorworks' sequel to Apache/Havoc takes helicopter sims to heights unseen since the legendary Longbow 2. With a wonderful dynamic campaign, a respectable flight model, and impressive avionics, Enemy Engaged appeals to both the novice pilot and the veteran simmer, and its compatibility with Apache/Havoc makes it the most versatile helicopter sim on the market." - GameSpot

fifa2001_boxfull.jpg (15111 bytes)

FIFA 2001
Genre: Sports (Soccer)
GameSpot 2000 Sports Game of the Year

fifa2001_screen001.jpg (38199 bytes)

"FIFA 2001 marks the first major progression in the FIFA series since it first entered three dimensions a few years ago. Players are much more detailed and lifelike than those found in the previous games. The pace of the game has been slowed to accurately represent the pace of the real game, and the computer AI does a much better job of recognizing different on-field strategies." - GameSpot
