Icewind Dale
Genre: RPG
GameSpot Review: 8.6/10
"Considering that other, more high-profile role-playing games were released this year, Black Isle Studios' Icewind Dale ran the risk of being completely overlooked. Fortunately, the game features a great deal of substantial gameplay, an interesting story, excellent voice acting, and an epic soundtrack by composer Jeremy Soule." - GameSpot
The Longest Journey
Genre: Adventure
GameSpot 2000 Adventure Game of the Year
"The Longest Journey's epic and often emotional story is filled with many interesting characters, all of which are brought to life with superb dialogue and voice acting. Impressive graphics and dozens of well-integrated puzzles also make the game itself great, while the length and scope of the game are very ambitious." - GameSpot
Editor's Note: I can't wait to try this game out myself. There has been nothing but pure raves about The Longest Journey. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a copy of this extremely underrated game. If you can get it, play it!
MechWarrior 4: Vengeance
Genre: Mech Simulation
GameSpot 2000 Sci-Fi Simulation Game of the Year
"The legendary MechWarrior series has seen several different approaches to gameplay, but the latest combines superlative graphics with outstanding multiplay to create a game that will appeal to novices and veterans alike. Some changes to the basic MechWarrior system set it apart from its predecessors to make MechWarrior 4: Vengeance a unique experience." - GameSpot
